Job Purpose: The role of a Stage Manager is to oversee any activity that takes place on, adjacent to, or behind the stage or performance area.   Stage Managers typically work closely with all stage crew, staff, volunteers, contractors and security in their area along with the Production Management and Event Control Team.

Stage Managers typically have the following attributes:

  • Excellent organisation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Extensive stage management experience
  • Knowledge of technical specifications and an ability to identify and trouble-shoot technical problems if / when they arise
  • Work under pressure in a busy environment and deliver scheduled tasks on time
  • Work in a team and have the ability to use initiative
  • Ability to manage and delegate
  • Be punctual and always conduct their work in a professional and respectful manner
